May is here which means the sun is shining, flowers are blooming, and most importantly it means that summer is just around the corner! To celebrate the end of the school year, I decided to make a batch of cake batter puppy chow. It's a quick, yummy treat that's loaded with sprinkles and doesn't require peanut butter. This makes it a great choice for peanut allergies. The recipe is below. Enjoy! Cake Batter Puppy Chow 1 box Crispix cereal 1 box Funfetti cake mix 1 package vanilla almond bark (candy coating) 1 cup powdered sugar sprinkles 1. Melt chocolate candy coating until smooth. Microwave at short intervals, stirring frequently. 2. While chocolate is melting, place dry cereal in a large bowl. Also, place powdered sugar and half of dry cake mix in the container you will be shaking in (I use a large paper grocery bag). 3. Drizzle melted chocolate over cereal and stir to coat. 4. Add the sprinkles! 5. Add the cereal to the paper bag and shake. Pour the additional cake mix over the cereal and shake again until well coated. Store in an airtight container when finished. I packaged mine in these super sweet treat bags from Hobby Lobby. Hope your summer is sprinkled with fun!
